Staff Accountant - Part-time

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing day-to-day bookkeeping.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Manage company accounts in QuickBooks.
  2. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
  3. Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: enter into QuickBooks, match, make payments and deposits.
  4. Prepare month end closing entries and account reconciliations.
  5. Produce adhoc financial reports and communicate financial position as needed.
  6. Assist with the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
  7. Drive the development of annual budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

The successful Staff Accountant candidate will possess the following:

  1. Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting, with 2-5 years of work experience in the field.
  2. Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks.
  3. Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies.
  4. Intermediate or greater knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  5. Experience with retail.
  6. Superior administrative and organizational skills.
  7. Experience with Shopify and/or Lightspeed is a plus.
